
Sifu Carl Yap
Carl Yap began practicing martial arts at the age of 10. He began training in Tae Kwon Do under Master Won Chi Chu. Later, he trained in Kickboxing, Kenjutsu, and Judo under his brother and father, Senseis’ Dave Yap and Cayetano Yap.
In 1999, Carl began training in Kung Fu and Filipino martial arts under Master Terry Pollard, and obtained a third degree black sash. Carl received his Sifu title in Kung Fu in 2014 and currently holds multiple black belts in various martial arts. In 2003, he graduated from UTC with a BS in Business Administration. Currently, he has developed his own self defense system, Core Defensive Systems. He hopes to spread his martial arts knowledge to his students and his community.
